If you want your team to feel like they have left the office, then you are in luck! Our cedar clad conference centre sits snugly into the hillside on a ridge displaying lush Waikato pastureland, extensive views to the east and west of Lake Waahi and is surrounded by native bush alive with birdsong. All this is viewable from the main conference room, with its double glazed stacker sliding doors adorning three sides, which give great indoor outdoor flow to the expansive decks, gardens and a 12 metre pool.

We have 2 conference rooms available – one that seats 12 and the other that seats up to 80. Conferences include use of the 12 metre swimming pool, garden walks, petanque, mini golf, outdoor games including giant connect four, giant Jenga, pickup sticks, and horseshoes.

The state of the art conference room, for up to 80 persons, has:

  • 106 inch projection screen with ceiling mounted data projector and in floor link for power/computer
  • 46 inch LCD TV with SKY and an indoor/outdoor sound system (DVD, CD, radio)
  • Electronic whiteboard with USB port connection
  • In-room kitchenette with fridge, continuous access to tea, plunger coffee and iced water
  • Wireless Internet capability
  • Air conditioning
  • Good natural light and fluorescent's as well as light blocking blinds

Conference sessions (prices exclude GST):

  1. Full day package
    Minimum charge of $550.00 for up to 10 people and then $55.00 per person. This includes use of all facilities, plus lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
  2. Half day package with lunch- (8am to noon or 1pm to 5pm)
    Minimum charge of $450.00 for up to 10 people then $45.00 per person. This includes coffee on arrival and lunch and morning or afternoon tea.
  3. Half day package - (8am to noon or 1pm to 5pm)
    Minimum charge of $300.00 for up to 10 people then $30.00 per person. This includes coffee on arrival and either morning or afternoon tea.
  4. Meeting Room Hire
    Room hire only $350.00 No per person charge, no catering included.
    Add ons: Tea and Coffee on arrival $3.00 p.p.  Continuous tea and coffee $6.00 p.p. Homemade baking $5.00 p.p.

Conference plus team building packages:

We aim to provide a conference experience that can meet all your needs. Our guided shooting activities (as above) can be used as a team building exercise or as ‘hotly’ contested bragging rights events and our great team building challenges will bring out the various attributes of your group members and get them to work together. Packages are tailored depending on group size, budget and time constraints.

Each of the activities are judged and winners announced. If you wish, the Metcalfes’ specially designed Award Certificates can be presented. These can also be tailored for specific industry or team events.

There is also a smaller 12 seat conference room available and several breakout areas.


Charges outlined above include the following:

  • Tea/plunger coffee on arrival
  • Use of air conditioned conference room and smaller breakout areas
  • Use of audio equipment and electronic whiteboard with printer
  • 106 inch screen and data projector and 46 inch TV. Both screens are capable of showing data, DVDs and Sky TV.
  • Wireless internet
  • Flip chart
  • Filtered ice water and sweets
  • In-room tea and coffee making facilities
  • Use of swimming pool, shower, miniputt, gardens and petanque court.

Once a booking is confirmed we ask you to fill out a Client Information Schedule that gives us the information to “process” your visit and confirm our discussions. At this point we may ask a 10% deposit at least 2 weeks in advance. We will allow a change in numbers attending up to a week in advance; otherwise we reserve the right to charge for the whole of the original booking if numbers drop.

Payments: Our preferences for payment are direct credit, Eftpos, cheque, or cash. Payment by VISA will incur a surcharge of 4 percent (we make no-mark up on VISA transactions).
